From Rachael-
We've been talking a lot lately about Ryan's teeth coming in.... Avery commented that his hands aren't as big as mine and then asked, "Mommy, will it hurt when my hands come in?" 

On the way to the Hopkins High band concert, I explained to Avery that we would see the director of the band that I was in as a high school student.

A: You mean when you were a boy?
Me: Yes, before you were even born.
A: You mean... I was younger, a baby.
Me: No, buddy, Mommy and Daddy hadn't even made you yet.  (Oh no, David, why go there???)

A: Oh, you made me.  So you and Mommy did a project?
Me: Sure.  So... about the band...

Rachael: Avery, make sure you wash your arms, legs, and tummy too
A: OK Mommy, and I'll do my neck and my elbow pits

 (Rachael laughed and he asked her what they're really called because he could tell that wasn't right - the bend part in your arm, and she told him that "elbow pits" seem like the perfect name because she has no idea what that part is actually called)

After finishing a "jam" where we played musical instruments together...
A: Daddy, when I grow up, I want to be a rock stawer
Me: Cool.  You can be anything you want.
A: Well... if not a rock stawer, I'll be a dentist.

As I was shaving this morning, Avery walked in nearly completely dressed.

A: Daddy, can you help me?  These pants are being rude, they won't let me button them.

A: Mommy, when I was in your tummy was Ryan there too or had we not bought him yet?

A: Daddy, if you have a loud toot do you say "excuse me" loud and if it's a quiet one then you whisper "excuse me"?
